Commercial LPG cylinder prices have rise again again from June 1, adding fresh pressure on hotels, restaurants, caterers, tea stalls, cloud kitchens and small businesses that depend on cooking gas for daily operations.
Oil marketing companies have increased the price of the 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder across major cities. The hike ranges from ₹42 to ₹53.50 per cylinder, depending on the city. However, there is no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinders used by households.
In Delhi, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been increased by ₹42, taking the new rate to ₹3,113.50. In Kolkata, the hike is higher at ₹53.50, pushing the new price to ₹3,255.50. Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Lucknow and other major cities have also seen an increase in commercial LPG rates.
The revised prices came into effect from June 1, 2026.

City-Wise Commercial LPG Cylinder Rates From June 1
Here are the latest 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder prices in major cities after the June 1 revision:

Domestic LPG Cylinder Prices Remain Unchanged
The latest hike does not affect household LPG users. The price of the standard 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder has been kept unchanged.
This means families using domestic cooking gas cylinders will not have to pay extra because of the June 1 revision. The increase applies only to commercial LPG cylinders used by businesses.

Who Will Be Impacted the Most?
The commercial LPG price hike is expected to directly affect:
- Restaurants and dhabas
- Hotels and guest houses
- Sweet shops and bakeries
- Cloud kitchens
- Caterers and wedding food service providers
- Street food vendors
- Tea stalls and small food outlets
- Industrial kitchens and canteens
For small food businesses, even a small increase in LPG prices matters because cooking gas is a daily operating cost. If fuel prices remain high, many businesses may be forced to increase menu prices or reduce margins.
Why Commercial LPG Prices Have Been Hiked Again?
Commercial LPG prices are revised regularly by oil marketing companies. The main reason behind this hike is the current global tension rising due to US-Iran War. The talks are still ongoing along with strikes all over Iran, UAE and several parts.
The latest increase comes at a time when global energy markets are facing uncertainty. Concerns over fuel supply security and pressure on international energy routes have affected LPG pricing.
India depends heavily on imports to meet its energy needs. Any disruption in global supply chains can impact fuel prices in the domestic market.
Government Pushes for Stronger LPG Reserves
The government has said that India has enough fuel stock at present. However, it is also working to strengthen fuel security.
According to officials, oil marketing companies have been asked to work towards maintaining LPG reserves for at least 30 days. This is aimed at reducing the impact of sudden supply disruptions in the future.
The government has also said that domestic LPG production is strong, while the remaining demand is being met through imports.
5-Kg Free Trade LPG Cylinder Also Gets Costlier
Along with the 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder, the price of the 5-kg Free Trade LPG cylinder has also been increased.
In Delhi, the 5-kg FTL cylinder has become costlier by ₹11. It will now cost ₹821.50.
These smaller cylinders are often used by small shops, roadside food vendors and low-volume commercial users.
Will Food Prices Go Up?
The latest commercial LPG price hike may lead to higher costs for restaurants and food businesses. Many small outlets may try to absorb the increase for now, but if LPG prices continue to rise, customers could see an impact on food bills.
Restaurants and caterers already deal with rising costs of vegetables, edible oil, milk products, transport and wages. A higher LPG bill adds another layer of pressure.
Possible impact on consumers:
- Restaurant meals may become slightly costlier
- Catering packages may see price revisions
- Small food vendors may reduce portion sizes
- Bakeries and sweet shops may adjust product prices
- Cloud kitchens may increase delivery menu prices
- Why Commercial LPG Matters
Commercial LPG is widely used in India’s food and hospitality sector. A rise in its price has a wider impact because it affects the cost of running kitchens, hotels, canteens and food businesses.
Unlike domestic LPG, commercial LPG is not mainly used by households. It is used for business purposes, and therefore, any price hike directly increases operating expenses for businesses.

News4Bharat POV
The fresh hike in commercial LPG prices is another burden for small businesses and food service operators. While domestic consumers have been spared for now, the increase in commercial LPG rates may still reach ordinary people indirectly through higher food prices.
For restaurants, caterers, tea stalls and cloud kitchens, LPG is not a luxury but a basic requirement. If rates remain high, many businesses may find it difficult to keep prices stable. The government’s focus on stronger LPG reserves is important, but businesses will be looking for more price stability in the coming months.
