What the TCS-ABB Deal Covers
TCS will improve user experience and boost operational efficiency for ABB's network environment. The scope also includes strengthening security and compliance, scaling service delivery, and preparing ABB for next-generation digital operations.
The engagement centers on ABB's Future Network Model programme, a company-wide initiative to convert ABB's global network into a single, standardized, centrally managed digital system.
As part of the deal, TCS will act as ABB's strategic programme partner, responsible for designing, integrating, and running a secure, modern, AI-driven global network. TCS will also manage ABB's multiple vendors to standardize operations worldwide.

Future Network Model: Key Components
ABB's Future Network Model programme will replace fragmented network environments with a secure, scalable, service-driven architecture built around a centralized control framework. This includes:
- Service Integration and Management (SIAM)
- A global network operations center
- Advanced security capabilities to safeguard infrastructure
- Modernized LAN, WAN, and software-defined WAN (SD-WAN) systems
TCS will also enable end-to-end monitoring and orchestration, delivering high-performance connectivity across ABB's network services.

Alec Joannou, Group CIO, ABB, said, “The Future Network Model represents an important milestone in reinforcing the digital foundation of ABB’s global operations. As our business evolves, it is critical to have an ecosystem that is resilient, secure, and aligned with long-term transformation goals. Our association with TCS reflects a shared focus on delivery excellence, continuous enhancement, and building capabilities that can support our strategic priorities.”

Anupam Singhal, President, Manufacturing, TCS, said: “For over two decades, TCS has had the privilege of supporting ABB’s transformation journey, and the Future Network Model marks the next chapter in this partnership. With AI embedded into the network operations model, supported by secure digital infrastructure and our deep domain expertise, we are bringing our 'infrastructure to intelligence' approach to build a resilient, intelligent network backbone. Through this engagement, we will enable network systems that can sense, adapt, and improve continuously, while strengthening reliability, security, user experience, and scale as ABB continues to advance as a future-ready enterprise.”
TCS and ABB have worked together for over two decades. This partnership has delivered several major programmes. These programmes have strengthened ABB's technology foundation.
One key achievement was consolidating multiple ERP systems. TCS brought them together into one unified SAP platform. TCS also helped speed up ABB's move to the cloud.
Together, these efforts show a deep partnership. This partnership is focused on results. It continues to grow with ABB's changing business needs.
Why TCS ABB Deal Matters?
The agreement strengthens TCS’s position in enterprise network transformation and managed infrastructure services. It also reflects the growing shift among multinational companies from fragmented, vendor-dependent network environments towards centrally managed, service-based architectures.
For ABB, the Future Network Model is intended to create a consistent digital foundation across its international operations. The integration of AI, centralised monitoring, advanced security and software-defined networking could help improve network resilience, operational visibility and user experience.
For TCS, the deal provides an opportunity to expand its role from a conventional technology services provider to a strategic partner managing the intelligence, security and performance of ABB’s global network ecosystem.
