Vodafone Idea has entered into a strategic partnership with PhysicsWallah to bring structured digital learning to students through mobile prepaid plans.
With this move, Vi has launched Vi Edu+, a new prepaid offering that bundles telecom benefits with access to PhysicsWallah’s educational OTT platform Pi. The service will initially be available for students in Rajasthan and UP East, with plans to expand to more telecom circles in phases.
The partnership makes Vi one of the first telecom operators in India to bring education directly into its prepaid recharge ecosystem. The idea is simple: students can recharge their mobile number and get access to both connectivity and learning content through one plan.

The Vi Edu+ pack will be priced at ₹375 in Rajasthan and ₹409 in UP East. It will offer unlimited 4G/5G data, unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day, and access to PW Pi Pro for 28 days. The subscription period has been aligned with the prepaid recharge cycle, making it easier for students to continue their learning without managing a separate monthly education subscription.
Through this plan, students will be able to access PhysicsWallah’s Pi platform through the PW app and website. The platform offers learning content for school students as well as aspirants preparing for major competitive examinations such as JEE, NEET, UPSC, Defence, CUET, CSIR NET, GATE and Olympiads.
The content library includes more than 30,000 video lectures, one-shot revision series, handwritten notes, live and recorded classes, quizzes, practice tests, AI-powered doubt solving tools and performance tracking features. The platform also includes courses for students from kindergarten to Class 12, along with upskilling programmes in areas such as technology, finance, generative AI, design and marketing.

For students in smaller towns and emerging education markets, the offering could help reduce two common barriers: high data costs and limited access to quality coaching. By combining learning content with mobile connectivity, Vi and PhysicsWallah are trying to make a smartphone work as a complete study companion.
Commenting on the partnership, Avneesh Khosla, Chief Marketing Officer, Vi, said: "At Vi, we are constantly innovating to deliver meaningful value beyond connectivity. With Vi Edu+,we are taking a significant step towards integrating education into our core offerings, enabling access to quality learning for millions of students. Our partnership with PhysicsWallah allows us to bring credible and structured educational content to a wider audience, especially those who aspire to learn and grow but are constrained by affordability or access. This initiative reflects our commitment to driving digital inclusion through purposeful innovation."

By providing access to structured content, from practice tests to expert lectures, within a single mobile recharge, we aim to simplify the digital learning experience and help students stay focused on their academic goals.”

The launch comes at a time when digital learning has become a regular part of student life, especially for board exam preparation and competitive exams. However, access to affordable content and uninterrupted internet remains a challenge for many learners outside large urban centres.
With Vi Edu+, both companies are targeting that gap. Vi brings network access and prepaid reach, while PhysicsWallah brings its education content and student-focused platform. Together, the companies are positioning the plan as a practical learning solution for students who want flexible, self-paced and affordable academic support.
For now, the offering will begin with Rajasthan and UP East. Its wider rollout will depend on the response from students and prepaid users in these regions.
