PhysicsWallah & Microsoft Launch AI Skilling Courses for Tier 2 & 3 Cities in India

In a significant push towards making future-ready skills accessible beyond metro cities, PhysicsWallah (PW) has joined hands with Microsoft to roll out AI-focused certification programs aimed at learners across India’s Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

The collaboration focuses on equipping students, early professionals, and job seekers with practical skills in high-demand domains like Generative AI, Data Analytics, and Digital Marketing. These programs will be delivered through PW’s skilling vertical, PW Skills, combining the platform’s massive reach with Microsoft’s advanced technology ecosystem.

What sets this initiative apart is its strong emphasis on hands-on learning. Students will get direct exposure to widely used industry tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, GitHub, and Office 365—tools that are increasingly becoming essential in modern workplaces.

PW is also taking a learner-first approach by offering introductory modules for free on YouTube. This allows users to build a basic understanding before committing to full-fledged courses. Interestingly, one of its recently launched programs—“Copilot for Functional Teams”—has already crossed 2 lakh views, highlighting the growing curiosity around AI-driven tools among Indian learners.

Speaking on the collaboration, Gopal Sharma, COO of PhysicsWallah, emphasised that quality education should not be restricted by geography or background. He noted that the real opportunity lies in empowering learners from smaller cities with the same tools and exposure as those in metros.

Echoing a similar sentiment, Geoff Hirsch from Microsoft highlighted the importance of scalable and employment-focused skilling in a diverse country like India. He pointed out that such initiatives help bridge the gap between learning and real-world job readiness.

The Data Analytics course under this partnership will cover essential skills like SQL, Python, and data visualisation, while integrating tools like Power BI and Copilot for real-time insights and automation. On the other hand, the Digital Marketing program offers over 125 hours of training, focusing on SEO, performance marketing, and AI-driven campaign optimisation.

Upon completion, learners will receive joint certification from PhysicsWallah and Microsoft—adding strong credibility to their professional profiles.

At a time when AI is reshaping industries, this collaboration signals a larger shift in India’s education ecosystem—where the focus is steadily moving from degrees to skills, and from theory to real-world application.
