India, August 31, 2026: In a significant push to deepen its national footprint, Karur Vysya Bank (KVB), one of India’s leading private sector banks, inaugurated 16 new branches in a single day. This major infrastructure expansion reinforces the bank’s dominance across southern India while selectively advancing its presence in the highly commercial Delhi NCR region.
With this simultaneous rollout, Karur Vysya Bank’s extensive domestic network now stands at 919 branches.
A Coordinated "Phygital" Expansion Drive
The simultaneous launch was anchored in Hyderabad, where Shri Ramesh Babu, Managing Director & CEO of Karur Vysya Bank, physically inaugurated the new Gachibowli branch. The remaining 15 locations were launched virtually via a coordinated video conference, symbolizing the bank's operational modernization and agility.
This expansion aligns with KVB's multi-tiered market strategy to penetrate metropolitan, urban, semi-urban, and rural areas. The physical branch network remains a cornerstone of the bank's strategy to cater to high-touch sectors, specifically retail customers, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and agricultural businesses.
Highlighting the balance between physical proximity and digital enablement, Shri Ramesh Babu, MD & CEO, stated: "We continue to expand our branch network in markets where we see good business potential and an opportunity to deepen our relationship with customers. While digital banking has made everyday transactions much easier, branches continue to play an important role, particularly for our MSME, retail and agricultural customers. The new branches will help us get closer to customers and offer them the convenience of both personalised service and digital banking."
