Cybersecurity solutions provider NETSCOUT has announced a major expansion of its cloud-based Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) mitigation infrastructure, doubling the capacity of its Arbor Cloud platform to 33 Tbps. The move comes as organizations worldwide face increasingly sophisticated AI-powered cyberattacks targeting critical digital infrastructure.
The company said the enhanced mitigation capacity is designed to help enterprises, financial institutions, healthcare providers, government agencies, retailers, and other critical sectors maintain uninterrupted digital services during large-scale cyberattacks.
According to NETSCOUT, the capacity upgrade is part of its broader investment in strengthening operational resilience as businesses increasingly rely on AI-powered applications and cloud-native services.
Growing Threat from AI-Driven DDoS Attacks
The cybersecurity landscape has witnessed a sharp rise in complex, multi-vector DDoS attacks capable of overwhelming online services. Industry reports indicate that cybercriminals are increasingly deploying AI-enabled techniques alongside massive botnets to launch simultaneous attacks across multiple targets.
NETSCOUT noted that recent mega-botnets, including Aisuru and Kimwolf, have pushed attack volumes close to or beyond 30 Tbps, highlighting the need for stronger cloud-based mitigation infrastructure.
The company's expanded Arbor Cloud network now operates through 16 global traffic scrubbing centres, enabling organizations to distribute attack mitigation across their security infrastructure while maintaining service availability.

The company also operates a 24x7 Security Operations Centre (SOC) staffed by DDoS security specialists to monitor and respond to threats globally.
The infrastructure expansion is expected to be completed by the end of August 2026.
