Noida witnessed a sudden spell of heavy rainfall, hailstorm and strong winds on Thursday afternoon, bringing a sharp change in weather conditions across parts of the city. The intense rain and gusty winds created difficult conditions for commuters, while hailstones were reported in several areas.
According to current weather updates, Noida is experiencing thunderstorm conditions, with rain activity expected in parts of Delhi-NCR. The India Meteorological Department had forecast light rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds of around 40–50 km/h for Delhi-NCR, including Noida, during the afternoon hours.
The sudden rainfall brought temporary relief from the ongoing heat, but strong winds and hailstorm activity caused concern among residents. People travelling on two-wheelers and pedestrians were seen taking shelter as the weather turned severe within minutes.
Authorities and weather agencies have advised residents to remain cautious, avoid standing under trees, stay away from electric poles and open areas, and step out only if necessary during thunderstorm activity. Uttar Pradesh has also seen weather alerts for several districts, with warnings of strong winds, rain, thunder and lightning.
Traffic movement may be affected in some parts of Noida due to waterlogging, low visibility and slippery roads. Residents are advised to follow official weather updates and take necessary precautions until conditions improve.
