In a significant move that underscores the growing role of AI-led transformation in global agribusiness, Wipro Limited has secured one of its largest strategic deals till date with Singapore-headquartered Olam Group.

The multi-year engagement, valued at over $1 billion, marks a deep collaboration between the two companies, with a committed spend of $800 million over eight years. For Wipro, this isn’t just another deal—it’s a clear signal of its expanding footprint in the ‘farm-to-fork’ ecosystem.

Olam Group, a $50+ billion global player employing nearly 40,000 people and backed by Temasek Holdings, is looking to sharpen its operational focus and future-proof its business. And for that, it is betting big on digital transformation.

Under this partnership, Wipro will bring in a consulting-led and AI-powered approach, leveraging its proprietary Wipro Intelligence™ suite. The idea is simple but ambitious: to reimagine Olam’s entire value chain—from farming and forecasting to trading, supply chains, and customer engagement.

Sunny Verghese, Co-Founder and Group CEO of Olam Group, highlighted that this collaboration goes beyond technology. It’s about building a more agile and resilient organisation. He pointed out that combining Wipro’s global capabilities with the domain expertise of Mindsprint creates a strong foundation for long-term growth.

And Mindsprint is central to this story.

As part of the deal, Wipro will acquire Mindsprint, which has been a key partner in Olam’s digital journey. With over 3,200 professionals—primarily based in India—Mindsprint brings deep expertise in supply chain transformation and a suite of proprietary platforms like Farmsprint®, Procuresprint®, and Tradesprint®.

Once the acquisition is completed (expected by June 2026, subject to approvals), Mindsprint will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Wipro. More importantly, its people and capabilities will be integrated into Wipro’s broader strategy.

Wipro CEO Srini Pallia described the engagement as a strategic milestone. According to him, this is not just about serving one client—it’s about scaling Wipro’s impact across the global food and agri-business sector. By combining AI, consulting, and industry-specific solutions, the company aims to unlock new growth avenues and drive innovation at scale.

At a time when global supply chains are under pressure and sustainability is becoming non-negotiable, this partnership reflects a larger shift. Technology is no longer a support function—it is at the core of how businesses operate, compete, and grow.

And if this deal is any indication, the future of agriculture may well be written as much in code as it is in soil.
