Even Hospital partners with Canara Surgicals to introduce advanced laser technology for minimally invasive surgeries in Bengaluru

Even Hospital, a multi-speciality healthcare facility located on Race Course Road in Bengaluru, has partnered with surgical technology company Canara Surgicals to strengthen its minimally invasive surgery capabilities through advanced laser-based medical devices.

As part of the long-term collaboration, Canara Surgicals has deployed its medical-grade Angelas diode laser system at Even Hospital. The device operates at a 1470 nm wavelength and is designed to support a range of minimally invasive procedures across several departments, including vascular surgery, interventional radiology, proctology, ENT, cosmetic surgery and gynaecology.

The technology will help doctors to perform procedures such as endovenous ablation for varicose veins, haemorrhoidectomy for piles, percutaneous laser disc decompression for spinal conditions and other microsurgical treatments with greater precision.

Minimally invasive laser procedures are increasingly being adopted by hospitals as they reduce the need for large incisions and help limit damage to surrounding tissues. Compared to conventional surgery, such procedures can lead to less bleeding, reduced post-operative pain, shorter hospital stays and faster recovery for patients.

Speaking on the partnership, Animesh Roy, CEO, Even Hospital, said the collaboration reflects the hospital’s focus on patient-centric and outcome-driven care. “At Even Hospital, we believe healthcare should be proactive, precise, and squarely centered around patient outcomes. Our collaboration with Canara Surgicals reflects a shared commitment to bringing advanced medical technologies that improve recovery, reduce complications, and make high-quality care more accessible. By integrating laser-enabled minimally invasive procedures across specialties, we are able to offer patients treatments that are not only clinically effective, but also far less disruptive to their everyday lives enabling faster recovery, shorter hospital stays, and a significantly better overall care experience.,” he said.

Roy added that by introducing laser-enabled minimally invasive procedures across specialties, the hospital aims to offer treatments that are clinically effective while being less disruptive to patients’ everyday lives.

The collaboration is also expected to support Even Hospital’s broader approach of combining technology, coordinated care and continuity across consultation, treatment, recovery and follow-up.

According to Shreyas S. Naik, Director, Canara Surgicals, the partnership with Even Hospital marks an important step in expanding access to advanced surgical equipment in India. He also mentioned that, “Our focus has always been on enabling better clinical outcomes with the right technology. Canara Surgicals’ latest partnership with Even Hospital marks another pivotal step in that direction, reflecting our shared vision of fast-tracking and improving patient outcomes and elevating care, while parallely reducing the emotional and financial burden associated with surgeries and long hospital stays. It also represents a remarkable evolution in care delivery – wherein Canara Surgicals’ advanced laser technology devices play a critical role in supporting better, more efficient healthcare via minimally invasive procedures,” he said.

Founded in 2023, Canara Surgicals provides surgical equipment and technology solutions aimed at improving surgical outcomes and patient satisfaction. The company has received approval from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization for supplying its medical equipment across India and is working with hospital chains across the country.

Canara Surgicals currently has a growing pan-India distributor network, with most deployments taking place in tier-1 and tier-2 cities. The company is also exploring a pay-per-use model to make advanced surgical technologies more accessible to healthcare providers in smaller towns.

The partnership comes as Even Hospital looks to expand its footprint in Bengaluru and other parts of India. Both organisations said the collaboration is aimed at improving access to minimally invasive surgical care and setting new benchmarks in surgical technology-led healthcare delivery.
