Kailash Manasarovar Yatra to Be Held from June to August; Registration Open Till May 19

The Kailash Manasarovar Yatra is set to open from June to August this year, with pilgrims travelling through two designated routes — Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand and Nathu La Pass in Sikkim.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, a total of 20 batches will undertake the pilgrimage this year. Of these, 10 batches of 50 yatris each will travel via Uttarakhand through the Lipulekh Pass, while another 10 batches, also comprising 50 yatris each, will take the Sikkim route through Nathu La Pass.

The Ministry has opened the official website, kmy.gov.in, for online applications. Interested applicants can register on the portal and submit their forms digitally.

The selection of yatris will be carried out through a fair, computer-generated random process. The Ministry said the selection system will also ensure gender balance among selected applicants.

The Kailash Manasarovar Yatra is organised by the Ministry of External Affairs in coordination with the Government of China. From application submission to the final selection of pilgrims, the entire process has been made fully computerised.

Applicants have been advised not to send letters or faxes for information related to the yatra. Instead, they can use the feedback option available on the official website to seek information, share suggestions, or register observations regarding the pilgrimage process.

While applying, pilgrims can choose either one route or select both routes by mentioning their preference. The last date for registration is May 19.
