Global performance footwear brand Skechers has signed Indian cricket star Suryakumar Yadav as it sharpens its focus on the sport in India. The 35-year-old batter, who recently led India to victory in the T20 World Cup, will now wear Skechers cricket shoes on the field and appear in the brand’s marketing campaigns.
The association marks a strategic move by Skechers to deepen its presence in cricket, banking on one of the game’s most dynamic modern players. Known for his innovative strokeplay and calm leadership, Yadav brings both performance credibility and mass appeal to the brand.
Speaking about the partnership, Suryakumar Yadav emphasised the importance of comfort in high-performance sport. He said that at the international level, staying focused often comes down to how well-equipped a player feels, and added that Skechers’ blend of comfort and performance made the collaboration a natural choice. He also expressed excitement about joining the brand and using its footwear across matches and training sessions.

Rahul Vira, CEO of Skechers South Asia, said Yadav reflects the mindset of today’s Indian cricketer—fearless, adaptable and consistently evolving. He noted that the batter’s leadership in India’s recent World Cup triumph aligns with the brand’s philosophy of innovation and performance. Vira also highlighted that the company has been steadily building a strong cricket portfolio in India.
Suryakumar now joins a growing list of Indian athletes associated with Skechers, including fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, pacer Mohammed Siraj, wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan and cricketer Yastika Bhatia. The brand also has a presence in football through its association with Sunil Chhetri.
Mumbai-born Yadav has built a reputation as one of the most versatile T20 batters in world cricket. Popularly known as ‘SKY’, he rose through domestic cricket before making a mark in the Indian Premier League with the Mumbai Indians. After a stint with the Kolkata Knight Riders, he returned to Mumbai Indians, where he continues to play a key role.
Since making his T20I debut in 2021, Yadav has been central to India’s white-ball setup. His back-to-back ICC T20I Cricketer of the Year awards in 2022 and 2023 underline his consistency and impact on the global stage.

The range includes models like the Cricket Elite, designed with 11 metal spikes for enhanced grip and stability, and the Cricket Blade, which features seven spikes to aid agility and quick movement—key attributes in modern cricket.
The company continues to expand its performance footwear portfolio globally across multiple sports, including running, football, basketball and golf, as it looks to position itself as a serious player in the athletic segment.
