Main Vaapas Aaunga Lives Up to Its Title With a Remarkable Comeback

Main Vaapas Aaunga has made a surprising comeback at the box office. The film had a slow start and many trade experts thought it would not perform well. However, it soon started attracting more viewers and its box office collection began growing, surprising the film industry.

The Main Vaapas Aaunga box office collection opened at just Rs. 1.28 crore on Friday, June 12, while its first weekend earnings reached Rs. 5.63 crore. At that stage, few expected the film to make a strong impact. But what happened in the following days turned the film into one of the most talked-about box office stories of the year.

From Slow Start to Stunning Surge

Unlike many Bollywood films that see a drop in collections after the opening weekend, Main Vaapas Aaunga continued to perform better during the weekdays. The film earned Rs. 1.15 crore on Monday, which increased to Rs. 1.60 crore on Tuesday, Rs. 1.80 crore on Wednesday, and Rs. 2.28 crore on Thursday.

What makes this performance unusual is that the film's earnings kept rising instead of falling. By Day 10, its collection was more than four times higher than its Day 1 earnings, suggesting that strong audience reviews and recommendations played a major role in attracting more viewers to theatres.

Second Weekend That Rewrote the Story

Cinema owners increased the number of shows during the second weekend, with some screenings starting as early as 6:30 AM. The move paid off as more people turned up to watch the film.

The film saw a strong rise in collections, recording a 125% increase on its second Friday compared to the previous day. Collections grew further on Saturday, showing a 145% jump over its first Saturday performance.

The film collected over Rs. 12 crore in its second weekend, more than double its opening weekend earnings and almost equal to its first-week total.

It also performed strongly overseas, with collections beating expectations in many markets.

Worldwide Numbers Tell a Bigger Story

This is where Main Vaapas Aaunga stands out from most Bollywood films. By its 10th day, the film had crossed the Rs. 40 crore mark worldwide, with total global earnings reaching Rs. 40.75 crore. Out of this, India contributed Rs. 29 crore, while the film earned Rs. 11.75 crore from overseas markets.

The film also performed strongly in countries with large Indian communities, including the UK, North America, Australia, and New Zealand. What makes this achievement remarkable is that the film was largely written off after its slow start. Now, it is moving steadily towards a major global milestone — a journey few in the industry saw coming.

What the Trade Is Saying

Trade experts say the film has truly made a comeback, just as its title suggests.

This strong performance came despite a reduction in shows at many cinemas. The film saw a remarkable jump on Monday—a day when collections usually drop—and has continued to perform well since then.

The big question now is whether it can maintain this momentum when new films arrive in theatres next week.
