Mumbai, October 29, 2026: Vastu Housing Finance Corporation Limited has appointed Hamsaz Vasunia Wadhwani as its Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), bringing a former banking HR head and organisational consultant into its leadership team at a time when the company is managing a lending business spread across 17 Indian states.

Wadhwani's appointment has been confirmed on Vastu Housing Finance's official leadership page, which identifies her as CHRO and outlines her responsibilities in people practices, leadership development and organisational effectiveness.

Her career includes more than 25 years in human resources, banking, executive search and consulting. More than 18 of those years have been spent in senior HR positions.

Announcing her move on LinkedIn, Wadhwani wrote:
"Happy to share that I have joined Vastu Housing Finance Corporation Ltd. as CHRO."

The appointment brings her back to an in-house corporate HR role after more than six years associated with The 7th Fold, a consultancy she co-founded to work with companies on employee wellbeing, workplace culture and organisational development.

For Vastu, the appointment comes against a larger business backdrop. At the end of FY2025-26, the company reported assets under management (AUM) exceeding ₹13,450 crore, a net worth of ₹4,223 crore and a network of 246 branches across 17 states.

That footprint provides context for the HR responsibilities she is taking on.

Who Is Hamsaz Vasunia Wadhwani? Her Career From DCB Bank to The 7th Fold

Much of Wadhwani's corporate HR experience comes from DCB Bank, where she spent more than a decade as Head of HR and Training.

According to her official biography published by Vastu Housing Finance, she headed the human resources function for a 6,000-employee organisation.

Her work at DCB Bank covered recruitment, employee development, performance management, business HR and training. It required managing people-related responsibilities across a banking organisation with employees working in different locations and functions.

That experience is relevant to her new position. Housing finance companies, like banks, depend on employees working across sales, credit assessment, operations, customer service and collections. Hiring and training decisions have consequences beyond employee numbers.

Before her banking tenure, Wadhwani worked in executive search and business services. Her earlier associations included EmmayHR Services and WNS Global Services. Vastu's official biography also refers to leadership experience at Randstad.

She subsequently moved into consulting and co-founded The 7th Fold in 2020.

The consultancy works with organisations on HR policies, leadership development, employee wellbeing, training and workplace culture. Its services also include a Shared CHRO model, under which companies can obtain senior HR advice without appointing a full-time executive to that position.

According to The 7th Fold, its work combines HR management with psychology to address workplace challenges.

Wadhwani's academic background follows a similar path. She holds an MSc in Experimental Psychology from the University of Bristol and a diploma in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations from NMIMS. She also holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from R. A. Podar College, University of Mumbai.

Her experience in employee wellbeing and behavioural psychology is an additional part of her background as she takes charge of HR at Vastu Housing Finance.

What Will Be Important to Watch Under Vastu's New CHRO?

The immediate significance of Wadhwani's appointment lies in the work required to manage employees across a geographically spread housing finance business.

Her previous experience suggests several areas where she has relevant knowledge, including recruitment practices, training, leadership development, employee retention and workplace wellbeing.

How much Vastu changes in these areas will depend on decisions taken by the company.

There are also questions that its public disclosures have not yet answered.

The official leadership information reviewed by News4Bharat does not specify Wadhwani's exact appointment-effective date, name a predecessor or provide numerical recruitment targets associated with her arrival. It also does not announce a restructuring of the HR function.

Those details should not be assumed from the appointment alone.

Her arrival is part of a broader set of senior management changes being reported across India's housing finance and non-banking financial company (NBFC) sector.

News4Bharat has also reported on Bakthavatsalu Kannan's appointment as Chief Development Officer at Repco Home Finance, where management changes have taken place alongside lending and branch expansion plans.

Another recent development involved Sandeep Kumar taking charge as Managing Director and CEO of LIC Housing Finance.

These are separate appointments with different responsibilities. Together, they provide a view of the management decisions being taken by housing finance institutions during 2026.

For Wadhwani, the next chapter is a return to the corporate environment in which she spent much of her career, this time with responsibility for HR at a lender operating across 17 states.

What will matter over time is not the appointment announcement itself, but the staffing, training and employee management decisions that follow.
